I’ve always wanted to write a fast paced, adrenaline ride type of book. T-MINUS is inspired by the TV show 24 in that it takes place in the span of one day. I've never done a project like this and found it incredibly challenging and rewarding. I was lucky enough to have an inside person who advised me on the logistics needed for such a plot-driven novel. I'd tell you who it is, but then I'd have to kill you :)
Fitting a love story in the span of this time was also challenging. And fun! Here we have Sophie, the main character, and Zeke, her long-time crush.  In all the years they’ve known each other this is the first time they share a hug. I just adore these two.
I pull my stolen car into a slot a few down and get out. The tiny red box in my front pocket wedges into my thigh, reminding me that I have my brother’s toe with me. This is insane. We need to talk through everything that’s happened so far, compare notes, and brainstorm.
But I don’t have time. None of us do. I have to find Erik.
Zeke is already out and coming toward me, and the sight of his strong body and purposeful stride brings me security and relief.
He doesn’t say a word, just closes the last few feet between us and pulls me in for a firm and warm hug. In all the years we’ve known each other, he has never once hugged me.
My arms don’t hesitate in wrapping around his muscular sides as I lay my cheek on his strong chest, close my eyes, and inhale his clean scent—soap, mixed with fabric softener, and something uniquely and only him.
All too quickly he pulls back, stepping away from me, and I get the sense he’s as shocked as me at what he just did.
He clears his throat and slides a look toward my stolen car, as if to give himself something to do other than look at me. Though he’s not flushed red, I detect embarrassment in him, and that makes me love him even more. Maybe this thing I always feel in his presence is not so one-sided after all.

I am the daughter of the first female POTUS, and today is about to become the longest day of my life…
24 hours—that’s how much time I have to save my mother before terrorists assassinate her. But now my father and brother are missing, too. This goes deeper than anyone thinks. Only someone on the inside would know how to pull this off—how to make the entire First Family disappear.
I can't trust anyone, so it’s up to me to uncover the conspiracy and stop these madmen. Because little do they know, they picked the wrong person to terrorize.
My name is Sophie Washington, and I will not be a victim. No one, I repeat no one, is taking me or my family down. But the clock is ticking…

  1. This sounds like it will be a good, suspenseful read, with just the right touch of humor and romance. Best wishes for a successful release.
