Romantic Suspense: Just Sit There and Listen!

Congratulations to "Chrisbails", the winner in Stephanie's giveaway. Please contact JUST ROMANTIC SUSPENSE to claim your prize!

I confess, I am an audiobook-o-phile. I would walk around with headphones on listening to romantic suspense stories read aloud all day if it didn't cause me to run into walls and/or telephone poles. When I was a kid, my mother used to tell me about how when she was a kid they listened to shows like The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet and Dick Tracy on the radio. I used to think that compared to watching television, listening to the radio seemed lame. I actually felt sorry for my parents having to listen to The Adventures of Superman over the radio.

Boy, was I ever wrong.

Now I know how powerful listening to a story acted out can be. You're forced to immerse yourself and picture the scenes in your head, creating your own intimate world connected only by the voices as you listen. Romantic suspense lends itself particularly well to this medium with the actor-narrators tone of voice giving the romance added sizzle and anticipation to the suspense.

Since I'm hooked on audiobooks, naturally, I wanted to create an audiobook from one of my romantic suspense stories for the Christmas season. I'm working on producing the audio version of Let It Snow, a romantic suspense novella from my Beachcomber Investigations romantic detective series. I finished auditioning narrators recently. The audiobook is now in production.

Here's a quick excerpt from the audiobook with narrator Mishka Thebaud. Let me know what you think!

This is the first audiobook I've done in a long while, but I did create a couple a while ago. If you're into audiobooks and romantic suspense with loads of action, then you should try The Hot Shots available at Amazon.

Consider this my personal invitation to hook you on audio--if you're not already gung-ho!

If you comment with feedback on the audiobook clip from Let It Snow, you have a chance to win THE HOT SHOTS, a romantic suspense audiobook!

Giveaway ends 11:59pm EST September 28th. 1. I love Audio books. Have a long drive (30) minutes to and from work every day and need something for the boring drive. It is almost all country roads. New to me author so looking forward to checking her out.

  2. The clip brings up many story questions. I am interested in what really happened to Dane's mother & when the stranger came to the door the tension went up. Sounds like a good read, Stephanie.

  3. Feel bad for Dane and Shana.
