I WISH I’D THOUGHT OF THAT

Giveaway Alert!

I’m a Keifer Sutherland fan from waaaaay back. The bad boy in Stand By Me, David the Vampire in The Lost Boys, and Doc in Young Guns locked me in as a fan girl. I’m not ashamed. After all… The rest of the world joined me in fandom when he became the iconic Jack Bauer (24).

Since it’s December, here’s a classic Jack Bauer moment where he interrogates Santa Claus. (Okay, not really…the original was edited. But it’s fun.)

And now Jack is back… I mean, Tom Kirkman.

I took one look at the Designated Survivor trailer and I was hooked. I had to have more of these characters. And the second thought racing through my mind (because the first was YAY, Keifer’s on TV again) was, “WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT?” No kidding. When I see an awesome show or read a terrific book, admiration hits me between the eyes along with an, “I wish I’d written that.”

Well… I didn’t think of Designated Survivor BUT…

I have been working on a mash-up of my own: CHARLIE’S ANGELS gets CHARMED
Each story is stand alone, but is centered around a PI/Protection Agency and a match-making grandmother. It’s great fun writing romantic suspense with a touch of woowoo power (as the heroes call it) and a lot of comedic sass. Here’s a little bit about one of the stories that will appear in the HOT ICE anthology in March.

BODYGUARDS IN HEELS

Seeing sparks fly between a couple is quite literal for Patty Mitchum. It’s taken her years to control and understand her gift—seeing cool, blue auras when couples are wrong for each other or red-hot lightening when their chemistry is perfect. And, when she’s lucky, she can touch someone and see the face of their true love.

Patty’s whole life’s been filled with frustration, knowing she could change the course of peoples’ lives for the best, but also knowing she’d be laughed out of town if she told others about her abilities. But now her grandchildren are in their twenties, unmarried and developing powers of their own. Finally, she can help them understand their gifts and find the happily-ever-afters they all deserve.

It’s high time this match-making, motorcycle-riding Grammy takes the love-lives of her grandchildren into her own hands and gives love a sweet kick in the right direction.

Cop turned PI Brooke Henderson is hired on the down-low to keep an eye on Deacon “Trip” Sanders after his team wins hockey’s biggest title. The gig should be as easy as an empty-net goal (yes, she knows her hockey!). The anonymous letter threatening trouble doesn’t have much merit and the gorgeous hockey phenom is certainly easy on Brooke’s eyes. If only her woowoo power wasn’t in full swing and instigating trouble. The erotic pheromones she’d learned to hold in check were drawing men’s unwelcome attention...but giving her the perfect cover as a puck bunny.

Brooke might be trying to keep watch from a distance, but everywhere he looks Deacon’s eyes are drawn to the beautiful warrior like a loose puck in front of the net. Despite his annoyance that his family thinks he can't keep himself out of trouble, can he convince this exquisite protector to stop fighting her erotic powers long enough to play his game?

But the game turns deadly when someone’s goal is to put Deacon in the penalty box....permanently.
