What would you do?

Congratulations to "Janice H.", "Taurus," and "Lynn B.", the winners in Lara's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!

My latest book, Enticed by the Operative, is out now and tells the story of Dr. Olivia Sandoval, a plastic surgeon who performs medical charity work in her ancestral home of Colombia.  A few weeks before her trip, she's approached by a suave, mysterious stranger who makes her an 'offer'--one she literally can't refuse!  Scared for her life and the lives of those she loves, Olivia makes a deal with the devil.  She's resigned to her fate, but then her neighbor stops by and she realizes there might be hope for her after all...

Olivia has a hard time opening up to Logan Murray about the details of her situation--they're neighbors, but they don't really know each other.  Still, there's something about him that makes her believe he can help her.  For his part, Logan is determined to protect Olivia and put the drug cartel that is blackmailing her out of business.  Provided they can both stay alive...

This book was a lot of fun to write!  Olivia is such a strong woman, and even when her back is against the wall and there is seemingly no hope, she refuses to give up.  She's no damsel in distress, a fact that Logan admires even if he does find it exasperating at times.  Logan is a born protector, and he'll do whatever it takes to keep Olivia safe and bring the bad guys down.

I'm excited to say this is the first book in my Doctors in Danger miniseries!  Avery's book (Dr. Do or Die) will be released in January, and Mallory's book will come out some time next year as well.  If you'd like to hear the latest about my books, please like my Facebook page or sign up for my newsletter!

I have three print copies of Enticed by the Operative up for grabs (U.S. only, please).  Tell me, if you found yourself in Olivia's situation, how would you respond?  Would you try to soldier on alone, knowing the bad guys have threatened your loved ones to buy your silence?  Or would you take a risk on a relative stranger in the hopes he can help?

Happy reading!

The lives of a beautiful surgeon and her DEA agent protector are at stake in this thrilling tale!

Logan jumps at the chance to guard a beautiful woman and bring down a drug ring. After all, neither he nor Olivia are looking for forever love—just justice. But one kiss changes that as they go on the run. When taken hostage in the jungle, they must not only defeat the enemy—but also escape with their lives!

  5. If he seemed to be a strong guy with the ability to go up against danger, I'd probably take the chance on telling him what happened and seeing if he had any ideas to help me out of the situation.

  6. It's hard to know what I would do in Olivia's situation since I've not been in her situation. But I have done a couple of extraordinary things to protect my kids when they were young...including saving one of them from drowning when I jumped in with all my clothes on. But that was not life threatening to me personally. I hope I would do everything in my power to save those I love and to not give in to a terrorist. And I darn sure would tell everyone I knew about the pickle I was in. That would not be a time to keep a secret! Thanks for the introduction to your writing, Lara. I'm glad I popped in to this blog post today.
