I love convenience store hot dogs.

With: Lara Lacombe

Congratulations to "Liz", the winner in Lara's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!

I have a confession: I love convenience store hot dogs.  For my money, it doesn't get any better than picking a hot dog off the roller warmers, drowning it in ketchup, and washing it down with a cold coke from the fountain machine.  I know it's not exactly haute cuisine, but it's tasty all the same.

I thought about hot dogs and gas station food a lot while writing this book.  Fiona, the heroine, works at a convenience store as part of her research for graduate school.  She has a crush on Nate, a frequent customer, but they've never really spoken.  As the book opens, Nate is considering his food options while Fiona looks on, trying not to be too obvious about it.  They both think it's just a regular night, but things are about to take a very dangerous turn...

Here's the back cover blurb: When Fiona Sanders is held at gunpoint at her convenience store job, Houston officer Nate Gallagher doesn't hesitate to act the hero. But within days she's targeted again and Nate knows the crimes aren't random. His only option: keep the vulnerable beauty safe while they search for the culprits.

Having lost her own father in the line of duty, Fiona refuses to fall for a cop—no matter how much the drop-dead gorgeous, self-appointed bodyguard tugs at her heartstrings. But as the enemy closes in and the truth about the attacks is revealed, Fiona must learn to trust Nate…or face history repeating itself.

I hope you enjoy reading Nate and Fiona's story, which is my fifth book for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.  When my first book was published in 2013, I thought it would take forever for me to reach this milestone.  How quickly the time flies!

Giveaway:
To thank you for stopping by, I'm giving away one print copy of Killer Season!  If you'd like a chance to win, please leave a comment!  I'd love to hear if you like convenience store hot dogs too, or do you prefer the nachos?  Or do you find it all gross?  Inquiring minds want to know! :)

  8. We all have those comfort foods. I like hot dogs, too. Not every day or even every week, but there are days when that's just what I need.

  10. The convenience store in my area doesn't do hot dogs or nachos - they have food you can warm up in the microwave.

  16. I can't remember ever getting pre-made food from a convenience store but I do love food from "chip trucks". They probably aren't called that any more but when I was a kid I loved getting french fries from the mobile food trucks.
