Congratulations to "Donna S.", the winner in Angi's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!

I am so excited to have four books out in 2016. Texas Rangers: Elite Troop is a four book series based around Company F and one Texas Mafia family. Yes, just about every area of the world has some type of crime family like a Mafia. But that’s for another post. Today I want to share some of the inspiration for the city featured in book 1: BULLETPROOF BADGE.

BULLETPROOF is set in Austin which has some very unique things. Oh course the University of Texas is here, making it a college town (although my TX Rangers for this series are Baylor grads). A lot of music is performed here (check it out) and they have the most fantabulous gourmet food trucks (which I work into book three).  I’ll drive out of my way to find this cupcake truck. In fact…I have detoured to find XX and bring home extra.

The Colorado river runs directly south of downtown where people swim, kayak and paddleboard. And seriously, I’m not a big BAT person, but seeing 2 million (yes that’s 2,000,000 Mexican free-tailed bats) leave from under the “Congress Bat Bridge” is an amazing experience.

I had all of these places and events in mind when I began writing BULLETPROOF BADGE, but I’ll have to save them for another story. Austin is the location, but Garrison’s and Kenderly’s story pulled me through a golf course on a motorcycle, through the dreaded 6th Street bar crawl and into the suburbs. I did manage to get a run (that would be chasing-on-the-run) scene close to the capitol building.

His key witnesses dead, Texas Ranger Garrison Travis had to protect innocent bystander Kenderly Tyler. Her crucial evidence had two very dangerous Texas crime families willing to do anything to keep her quiet. But Garrison's undercover status had branded him a killer, and now the bad and the good guys were after them both.

Hiding out with a handsome protector, on the run for her life, was so beyond anything Kenderly had imagined. While there was more than just adrenaline pulsing between them, the Ranger vowed his job was his life. Dare she wonder what would become of them should they actually make it out alive?
