My Top Five Romantic Suspense Heroes

Congratulations to "Joan V." the winner in Holly's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!

5. Ex-Military / Black Ops – I love the ex-military types that have transitioned to the private sector and end up falling for the woman in a world of trouble. (Maya Banks – KGI series)

4. Biker Tough Guy – I like the idea of a guy without training completely alpha-male-ing his way through a dangerous situation. (Julie Ann Walker – Biker Series)

3. Spy – What’s not to like about sleek, sexy, and dangerous? Spy heroes appeal to me because they’re only supposed to think about themselves, and it’s a real adjustment for them to shift their focus.

2. Regular Guy – Give me any hero that is just man enough to rescue his woman even though he’s a regular good guy. (Pamela Clare – Extreme Exposure)

1. Undercover Agents – Obviously, as my first novel indicates, I adore undercover agent romantic suspense novels. The secrets and intrigue get me every time! I love it when the story reveals their true motives.

I sincerely hope you enjoy No Way Out and the world of Emma Hamilton and Coleman James.

Emma Hamilton lives by a set of rules. They're Robert's rules, and above all, he expects perfection. She's willing to do whatever it takes to get out from under the increasingly unstable and dangerous Robert Avery.

Enter Coleman James, hot-shot, undercover agent that thinks he's too good for the likes of undercover work. That's the problem with being the best—even the most undesirable assignments require a golden touch.

When Coleman is assigned as Emma's bodyguard, their obvious attraction to each other ignites. Is Emma willing to ruin her only shot at getting away from Robert? Is Coleman willing throw away his best chance at bringing Robert Avery to justice?

Coleman didn’t wake up slowly like most people. He had a tendency to wake up with a start. With eyes wide-open.

He could barely make out the soft curves of Emma’s body. She sat in a chair she’d pulled up next to the bed. Her knees tucked up against her body, and her feet perched on the edge of the bed. She was stark naked and giving him one incredible show.

“Tell me,” she said, holding the FBI badge in her hand.

“Come here.” He needed her close to him. Those two words, tell me, were a loaded demand, and he needed her next to him.

“No.” She shook her head.

“Honey, if you’re going to be naked, then you’ll be naked in my bed. I can’t think straight when you’re looking like that. Come here,” he urged.

“I can’t think at all when I’m so close to you. I’ll stay right here.” She flashed the badge again. “Tell me.”

Coleman groaned. She was going to stay where she was.

If she wanted to hold an interrogation, then he would let her. He turned on his side and propped his head up on an elbow. “What do you want to know?”

“Who are you?”

“Coleman James.”

“You know what I mean.”

God, she was beautiful when she was pissed. “Emma, I’m still Coleman.”

“All I know is that I just slept with a complete stranger.”

Jesus, Emma. Would you come over here?”

She stood and flung the badge onto the bed. Picking up the first piece of clothing she found—one of his undershirts—she pulled it over her head and walked over to the kitchen bar, unsteady on her feet.

“Are you married?” she asked, cutting him off, looking around the room. “Where are my clothes?”

“No,” he said, leaving the bed.

“Do you have a girlfriend? Someone? Anyone?”

“Do you?”

“That’s not a fair question and you know it.”

“Honey, you’re the one coming up with the questions.” He met her in the middle of the room, stalking her until her back met the kitchen bar.

  1. I love romantic suspense! My favorite hero's are military or former military. :) Have a great day!

  2. Why do I have to choose? I love all these types of heroes :), but if I have to choose, I'll go for the ex military or the regular guy.

  3. It's so hard to choose! I do love the military types and the ex-military guys who are still doing what they used to in a covert role. They know how to handle dangerous situations. I also love the law enforcement heroes...FBI, detectives, sheriffs.

  4. I love the hot detective trying to solve the heroine' s case while keeping her safe from the Bad guys! I also love the ex-military hero.

  5. I believe I've read all the books in Maya Banks' KGI series, Julie Ann Walker's Black Knights series, and Pamela Clare's I-Team series, so I'm guessing your book is right up my alley! I'll have to check it out. amyp115 AT yahoo DOT com

  6. My absolute favorite hero type is a cowboy. But I also love SEALs and pretty much any military hero.

  7. Love romantic suspense books involving Special ops, SEALS, detectives or anyone trying to solve mysteries. I am unable to read ebooks due to health issues and have to rely on actual books. If my name should be chosen and accommodations could be made, I'd appreciate it. Books are my saving grace from PTSD as a means of distration. Never read your books before but have made a note of your name to look for books at library, etc. thanks for opportunity
