Do Ghosts Really Exist?

When I started writing DEADLY LIAISONS, I knew I wanted to include a smidgeon of paranormal in the story. I mean, really, Oregon coast, old mansion, creepy fog...It reeked of something spooky and was ripe for a paranormal element. DEADLY LIAISONS is the third book in the DEVIL'S SHROUD series or the DEADLYs as I call them. I had all the elements for a great suspense with a pretty heroine, hunky hero and fantastic setting. But I did that in the last book and the book before. So I added the element of ghosts to the mix. And what better way to introduce them than on a Ghost Hunting weekend at the McGregor Mansion?

I've been on a couple of ghost hunting tours. Once to the Velda Rose Hotel in Hot Springs, Arkansas and another time at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Both times I can say I didn't have a ghost encounter. and the Crescent Hotel was once used as a hospital for cancer patients where the doctor used nefarious treatments to cure/kill patients! But a visit at night to a Hot Springs graveyard left me wondering if what I was seeing was real or a figment of imagination. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, suspend your disbelief when you read DEADLY LIAISONS. Ghosts or no ghosts, it's edge-of-your-seat suspense. Come along for the ride and enjoy the spook-factor.

People have been known to perish at McGregor Manor…
Opening her B&B to a group of ghost hunters, Molly McGregor hopes the spirits rumored to be there will appear. She needs the weekend to be a financial success. But when disembodied voices and hazy images nearly lure her to her death, Molly's driven straight into the arms of a sexy but mysterious guest—Casanova Valdez.

Nova knows what it's like to be haunted—by memories of a case gone bad. As a secret agent, he's confident he can protect Molly but is not exactly sure he believes in ghosts. As the mysterious incidents targeting the gorgeous redhead become increasingly more dangerous, Nova must question if it's the handiwork of a ghost…or a killer.

  1. Ooh! Sounds like a great book to me! All the romantic suspense I love, but with a creepy, mysterious backdrop, too. Off to order it for my Kindle!

(And looking forward to seeing you again at RWA this summer, roomie!)

    1. Waving hi to my good friend Julie!! Can't wait to see you too! Thanks!

  2. Hi all! Thanks to Maureen Miller for inviting me to come out to blog about ghosts on the Just Romantic Suspense Blog. I love suspense, but love even more to mix it with a touch of the paranormal. The setting of this book lends itself to ghosts. This is the third book in the series, but they can all stand alone. The Devil's Shroud is the ghostly fog that creeps over the Oregon coastline shrouding all kinds of evil-doers live and dead. Hope you enjoy the book!

  3. Hi Elle, I'm a romantic suspense junkie of the highest order and I enjoy your books. My sister lives on the Oregon coast, so I know how thick that fog can get. I have Deadly Engagement in the TBR paper mountain. I'll order Deadly Liaisons as soon as I sign off here.

  4. This sounds fabulous and will definitely be going on my TBR list. I love romantic suspense that includes a paranormal element. Beautiful cover too. I'm off to check it out on Amazon now!
